Worthing Business AwardsWorthing Business Awards

OK. We know that the Worthing Business Awards took place back in October … And our excuse for the delay in writing about this event? The Brand Surgery has been so crammed with patients needing urgent cures for their businesses (namely rebrands and new websites) – that we overlooked reporting on the staggering success of the Worthing Business Awards. If you didn’t know this, The Brand Doctor sponsored the category, ‘New Business of the Year’. And the winner was … www.takeawaymenu.com.

If you want to see more photo evidence from the evening, log onto www.worthingfirst.org.uk. Incidentally – the Worthing First logo (behind ‘The New Business of the Year’ winners – photo above) was designed by The Brand Doctor. The excellent photography is by Graham Franks (www.grahamfrankspics.co.uk). Photos top, Jacqui Moore, Vicky Vaughan, Nick Peters and Gay Richardson. Middle, Vicky Vaughan and the winners, www.takeawaymenu.com. Bottom – What has the doc been up to?

CHICHESTER FRANCHISE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

Vicky Vaughan, Managing Director of The Brand Surgery formalised the launch of the first Dial-a-Hubby franchise in the UK. Simon Cook, pictured above, receiving a bottle of champagne and keys to his bright new van from Vicky (PINK champagne of course). Go to: http://www.dial-a-hubby.com.

If you don’t know this, Dial-a-Hubby does everything from turning mattresses to un-flatpacking furniture to fitting ovens! I totally recommend Dial-a-Hubby who fitted a brand new integrated microwave oven for me recently. Dial-a-Hubby are extremely reliable, friendly and left the place tidy. Phone 01903 501121 if you live in the Worthing area. And if you are in Chichester, call 0845 680 0814. If you live outside this area then why not consider setting up a franchise in your area.

Mrs Black, Chichester Dial-a-Hubby’s first customer, is pictured below receiving flowers from Vicky Vaughan, MD of The Brand Surgery.

FONTWELL RACES

What a day! In the spirit of true British weekend weather! If you were not brave enough to venture out, you missed out on seeing MP Tim Loughton in his Crocodile Dundee outfit. You missed out on meeting Mike Payne (illustrator of Nurse Sunshine). You missed out on singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to The Brand Surgery’s MD, Vicky Vaughan.

If you did come to the Fontwell races – the racing results were as follows! This is just in case you didn’t actually see any racing because you stayed in the luxurious WARM and DRY marquee supplied by www.partyonthegrass.com, whilst munching on posh vol-au-vents and fish balls (a delicacy I promise) kindly supplied by Andrew Sparsis of Food and The Fish Factory, Worthing … More photos will follow in due course

KWASH CALENDAR CAMPAIGN

If you haven’t heard the latest KWASH calendar commotion then where have you been?!

The KWASH calendar was designed by The Brand Doctor, graphic and website designers in Sussex to raise money for the KWASH appeal. The idea for the calendar came from Andrew Sparsis, proprietor of Food and The Fish Factory restaurants in Worthing. The calendar was officially launched back in March 2007 and eight months later it has been nationally recognised.

WORTHING CHURCHES HOMELESS PROJECT

At the RED Corporate Golf Day, The Brand Doctor team bid and won many items at the charity auction in aid of Worthing Churches Homeless Project, including a Corporate Golf Day for 20 people, two golfing breaks and a make-over with Gay Richardson of Style me Confident. Vicky Vaughan, Managing Director of The Brand Doctor decided to pay a visit to one of WCHP’s day centres, St. Clare’s Day Centre, to see what goes on.

Vicky said, “I was embarrassed to discover that I have lived and worked in Worthing for ten years and didn’t realise the extent of the homelessness problem. I for one, am guilty of walking past the homeless and not reaching into my pocket because I fear my hard earned cash (that I have left after multiple taxation) will be spent on alcohol and drugs! What will I do next time I pass the homeless? Probably the same but I will feel much less guilty because I will be helping them out in another way.”

Following the successful completion of the Stagecoach Coastliners magazine, The Brand Doctor (and our sister company - yet to be announced) are delighted to take on the production of In The Loop magazine, which takes us into the un-chartered (well, by us anyway!) territory of the Isle of Thanet, Kent. This is looking to be just as exciting a production as the first magazine and we can’t wait to see it in print.Just in case you didn’t know…. Coastliners magazine is designed and published especially for passengers along the Coastliner 700 route. The magazine was produced to promote and increase the use of bus travel in a friendly and informal way. Plus it keeps passengers up-to-date and entertained through articles of interest from the environmental advantages of travelling by bus to special deals, route maps and timetables.
