KWASH CALENDAR CAMPAIGN

If you haven’t heard the latest KWASH calendar commotion then where have you been?!

The KWASH calendar was designed by The Brand Doctor, graphic and website designers in Sussex to raise money for the KWASH appeal. The idea for the calendar came from Andrew Sparsis, proprietor of Food and The Fish Factory restaurants in Worthing. The calendar was officially launched back in March 2007 and eight months later it has been nationally recognised.

Unfortunately, the press have put a negative spin on the calendar saying it is degrading to the nursing profession! How wrong can they be? A lot of local businesses gave their time and expertise for free, including Andrew Sparsis, David Sawyer Photographers, Gay Richardson of Style Me Confident and of course the gorgeous models. Vicky Vaughan, Managing Director of The Brand Doctor, says, “I am all for womens lib and equal opportunities, and respect for women. I am disappointed that a minority of nurses have spoiled this venture to raise much needed funds. The calendar was a fun way of promoting KWASH and we did all this because we love our nurses and want to save their jobs.” Andrew Sparsis said, “The big joke is that the nurses should put their energies into signing the petition for the PCT, not ruin a fun campaign to save their jobs and our hospital”.
