Charity fundraising event marketing for Help for Heroes

The challenge

Terry Winstanley, Jade Richards and eight other contestants from X Factor 2011 came to Worthing (Assembly Hall) for one night only (Friday 4th November 2011, 7-10.30pm) to raise money for Help for Heroes. Terry asked us to organise this one-off event within three weeks!

The solution

We used our winning combination of design and marketing tools to promote THE WOW FACTOR: logo design, graphic design, social media expertise, website design, PR, and our newly acquired Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification.

We were naturally delighted to accept. As you may know, we have also organised Worthing Idol 2010 and the fantastically successful Broadwater Royal Wedding Picnic which attracted 3000 people and we raised £1500 towards Broadwater Community Association.

After I finished X-Factor 2012, I decided to get some of the other contestants together and put on a show. I wanted to put this show on within three weeks and I soon realised the vast work that is involved. I hired The Brand Surgery® because they have had amazing success organising events like Worthing Idol and the Royal Wedding picnic. Vicky negotiated with Worthing Theatres, created the event strategy, co-ordinated the after-party venue, hotels for the performers, charity liaison, PR and branding of the event, insurance, wristbands and security. I can’t believe she managed to do this within three weeks. We sold 700 tickets and the profits went to Help For Heroes. I would definitely recommend The Brand Surgery for any event that requires the WOW Factor.
