At The Brand Surgery, we don’t just treat symptoms—we diagnose and cure your branding challenges. Recently, as part of my Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as a Chartered Marketer, I embarked on an internal project that perfectly blends 22 years of branding expertise with cutting-edge AI technology. Our goal? To create something truly transformative that showcases our deep knowledge of the BMS Controls and Smart Buildings industry, a field we’ve been immersed in since 2016.

The Patient:

Our “patient” was a 2.5-minute AI-powered explainer video designed to highlight our expertise and creative capabilities in the BMS and Smart Buildings sector. The diagnosis? A need for a bold, innovative approach that not only stands out in this technically complex industry but also enhances our ability to reach out to potential clients in this industry.

The Treatment Plan:

Inspired by Steven Bartlett’s ‘Diary of a CEO,’ I decided to integrate AI into my creative process as part of my CPD. Utilising 7 AI tools alongside Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator, I set out to create a video that not only demonstrates our technical understanding but also illustrates how AI can complement, not replace, the human touch in branding.

The Procedure:

Creating custom avatars was at the core of this project. We designed a sassy brand doctor and a camera-shy BMS engineer, adding personality and relatability to our content. This wasn’t just about visual appeal—it was about making complex industry concepts accessible and engaging. Crafting effective AI prompts felt like diagnosing a rare condition—complex and time-consuming, but persistence led to a successful outcome.

The Prognosis:

The final video is a testament to the synergy between AI and human creativity. It effectively showcases our deep industry knowledge and our ability to make even the most complex ideas visually engaging and easy to understand.
